About quasol

quasol - a modern academic spin-off

quasol was established as Spin-off (Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany) in order to connect theory and practice. Practical and quantitative questions are solved in cooperation with the chair of statistics. Complex statistical issues are presented in a costumer-friendly way. Finally, quasol cooperates with various scientist and research institutions.

Management

Dr. rer. nat. Daniel Ziggel

Dr. Ziggel studied applied mathematics (TU Kaiserslautern) focussing on financial mathematics. Besides, he worked for a state bank in Germany (Risk-, and funds management). From 2006 to 2008, Dr. Ziggel worked as scientific assistant at the statistics chair of Prof. Dr. Dette at the Ruhr-University Bochum. More precise, he was concerned with the modeling of asset prices and the estimation of yield curves. In 2009, Dr. Ziggel was employed by a renowned management consultancy. Since February 2010, he is director of quasol. Besides, he is still publishing scientific arcticles.

Lawyer Vanessa Peters

Mrs. Peters studied law at the Ruhr-University of Bochum. Besides, Mrs. Peters established the investment club "21Wallstreet GbR" and worked for a German hotel chain. Since February 2010, she is director of quasol.

Prof. Dr. Holger Dette

Professor Dr. Holger Dette is owner of the chair "Mathematik III: Stochastik, insbesondere Statistik" at the Ruhr-University Bochum. Moreover, Professor Dette is deputy director of the special research field (SFB) 823: "Statistical modelling of nonlinear dynamic processes". His research is focused on designing experiments, nonparametric regression and financial statistics. Professor Dette is an academic mentor of quasol.

Dr. Nicolai Bissantz

Dr. Nicolai Bissantz is university lecturer for statistics at the Ruhr-University Bochum. Dr. Bissantz researches on statistical invers problems and applied statistics. Currently, Dr. Bissantz studies the efficiency of risk measures in cooperation with quasol.

Prof. Dr. Walter Krämer

Professor Dr. Walter Krämer is director of the department for economy- and social-statistics at the TU Dortmund. Moreover, he is direktor of the special research field (SFB) 823: "Statistical modelling of nonlinear dynamic processes". His research focuses on capital markets and linear regression. Professor Krämer assists quasol as an academic mentor.

JProf. Dr. Dominik Wied

JProf. Dr. Dominik Wied teaches financial econometrics at the TU Dortmund. He researches on structural breaks and their application to financial time series. Besides, he supports quasol during larger projects.

Prof. Dr. Mark Podolskij

Professor Dr. Mark Podolskij researches on semimartingales and asymptotic theory for high frequency data at the university of Heidelberg. Currently, Professor Podolskij studies new estimation methods for correlations and covariances of assets in cooperation with quasol.
